By the Nine, it’s Thursday! High time to send out a new edition of your favorite weekly digest - The Weekly Cheese. If you’re new around here, welcome. To the rest of you, you know the drill (but I’m still glad you’re here). Grab a bevvie, take a seat, and let’s roll through the updates from the team over this past week!
The Details
Given that my ability to actually write the cheese this week is intact, I’ll leave my sidekick Rocket to his much-more-important business of actually building afflicted. You know, the stuff that’ll actually get you all in the game before the end of the century! But I digress, let’s check in with the team now.
Ryan
Researching a path to upgrade from Fusion 1.0 to Fusion 2.0.
Working on fixing trail renderer bug (I’m so pissed).
Worked with Daniel a bunch, but honestly he just took it and handled biznis.
Fixed a few bugs.
Working on proper Sniper Rifle scope positioning.
Added more CHEESE_GUNZ.
Exposed more map data for quests, items, progression stuff.
Reignited my cold brew addiction. The kidneys are not coming back online fast enough.
It’s been 12 Cold Brews this week. The Devils Dozen, if you will.
Bryan
Developing an intuitive recipe spreadsheet. It’s not an exaggeration to say EVERY object in the game will be present in this document, so it’ll be a minute. But ground has been broken, and that’s neat stuff.
Daniel (Y’all ready for my yap sesh?)
Added new recipe list system. Reworked recipe class to be more robust. Now we have a universal recipe system usable anywhere in the game.
Created 4 major types of recipes: One to One, One to Many, Many to One, and Many to Many. This will help organize recipes and simplify recipe creation in the future.
Added basic implementation of steam achievements. Currently 3 unlockable achievements ready for testers to collect.
Fixed minor UI/Gameplay QoL issues from previous playtest.
Discussing a quest system with Ryan. Want to make sure it’s done right. It's gonna be sick.

Do I even need to remind y’all again? BROTHER HE STILL MAKING MEMES!

He’s busy as all get out, that’s for sure.
Bruce
Bruce is Bruce-ing. Let him cook.
Cole
Jumped back on level posters this week! It’s time to get these suckers worked on and hopefully start finishing them off.
Gonna start working on recipe icons once we get them locked down. Need more iconography!
In Closing
Things are still on the up and up. Obviously, the big deal this week is that shiny new achievement system from Daniel - but don’t overlook all the efforts from the rest of the team! We’re working hard over here, as always, to make afflicted the best possible version of itself. This community is seriously one of my favorites, and your support is really what encourages us to keep moving forward!
